IPL Photofacial Treatment

A gentle and painless facial treatment

An IPL Photofacial provides dramatic results with absolutely no pain. The treatment uses Intense Pulsed Light from Candela’s elōs Plus to deliver energy to targeted spots that need to be treated, with no down-time.

IPL is a treatment that targets skin pigmentation and helps to even out skin tone, essentially erasing red or brown blemishes on the skin. This makes it a perfect treatment for people that want to eliminate:

  • Freckles & Sun Spots
  • Acne Scars
  • Melasma
  • Moles
  • Spider & Varicose Veins
  • Broken Capillaries
  • Redness from Rosacea
  • Fine wrinkles
  • Birth Marks
  • Other types of hyperpigmentation

IPL Photofacial is a versatile treatment that can be used in any place on the body.

IPL can be done on virtually any part of your body to improve and even skin tone. It is most frequently done on the chest and back to help eliminate freckles and sun damage.

It is also very common to have the IPL treatment done on arms and legs to decrease the appearance of spider and varicose veins.

IPL provides you with results.

IPL Photofacial Treatments

It generally takes 7-14 days to see the full results from an IPL Photofacial. It is also typically recommended to get a series of 3 treatments to see the full results.

Yes, results are permanent. However, because pigmentation issues can recur, it is recommended to keep up with treatments on a recurring basis for ideal results.

Because IPL gently breaks up pigmentation, there are little to no side effects. The only side effect is that the pigmented areas may first become darker, before starting to flake and become lighter and brighter.

  • For 2-4 weeks prior to treatment, avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning lotions. Wear SPF 30+ every day, both before and during treatments.
  • Stop using topical or oral photosensitive medications and products 10 days to 6 months prior to treatment, depending on the medication. If you are unable to do so, we can discuss alternate treatments.
  • Avoid Retin-A, Retinols, Glycolics, and Salicylics 3 days prior to your appointment. Stop taking aspirin 2 days prior.
  • On the day of your treatment, shave the area and do not apply lotions, creams, or cosmetics.
