Plasma Fibroblast Pre- and Post-Procedure Instructions

Plasma Fibroblast Pre- and Post-Procedure Instructions

Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening is like an instant facelift without the painful surgery or heavy price! This non-invasive procedure can smooth fine lines and wrinkles and both firm and lift sagging, thin skin.

The precise Plasma Fibroblast pen delivers small charges of plasma energy in patterned dots to the treatment area. This causes the topmost layer of skin to immediately retract and tighten, giving you a smoother, more youthful appearance. Your results continue to increase as your skin heals and produces more collagen in the treated area.

Although this procedure is safe for most people, it may not be suitable for some. Hyperpigmentation can occur, especially for those with darker skin types. We recommend spot testing if you have medium to dark skin.

This treatment is also not safe for those with uncontrolled diabetes, healing disorders, or who have a history of hyperpigmentation and/or keloid scarring.

Finally, you must follow all pre- and post-procedure instructions to ensure safe healing and maximum results.

Pre-Treatment Instructions for Plasma Fibroblast

  • Arrive to your appointment with clean skin; do not apply creams, lotions, or cosmetics.
  • If you are prone to cold sores in the treatment area, please begin taking an antiviral 2 days prior to your treatment.
  • Avoid tanning and unprotected sun exposure for 2 weeks before your appointment.
  • If you have had any skin procedures in the treatment area, including—but not limited to—waxing, laser treatment, fillers, or chemical peels, you should wait at least 2-3 weeks before Plasma Fibroblast treatment.
  • Please disclose all topical and oral medications to us before treatment. Some medications, such as Accutane (Isotretinoin), must be discontinued 6 months before treatment. Blood-thinning drugs and supplements, such as aspirin, warfarin, and fish oil, should be discontinued 2 days before treatment.
  • Stop using Retin-A and other retinoid-type products, as well as salicylic and glycolic products, in the treatment area 3 days before treatment.
  • FOR TREATMENT AROUND EYES: Remove contacts before your treatment begins. Remove eyelash extensions before your appointment; do not reapply for up to 8 weeks.

Post-Procedure Instructions for Plasma Fibroblast

  • Use gentle, perfume-free cleansers to care for your skin after treatment and pat dry.
  • Cold compresses may be used for discomfort, redness, or swelling. Anti-inflammatory creams may be used sparingly to keep the area dry in the first few days.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure until scabs have completely fallen away, and use at least SPF 30 on the treatment area throughout the healing process.
  • Do not pick, scratch, or scrub your skin as the area scabs over and heals. Scabs will naturally fall off within 7-14 days.
  • Avoid sweating, saunas, swimming pools, lakes, or ocean water until the scabbing has healed. Otherwise, immediately resume normal activities that do not cause you to sweat excessively.
  • Avoid applying makeup to the treated area until the scabs have healed and fallen off.
  • You may also resume anti-aging products within 24-48 hours or when your skin is not irritated or inflamed.
  • Avoid scrubs, retinoids, glycolics, and other harsh exfoliants for up to 8 weeks after your treatment to allow cellular turnover and healing time.

What to Expect After Plasma Fibroblast

While Plasma Fibroblast is nowhere near as painful as a surgical facelift or requires as much healing time, it can cause some discomfort and disruption of regular routines.

During the procedure, your technician may recommend a numbing cream to decrease discomfort.

For the first 24-48 hours, you will likely experience swelling in the area. This can be especially disconcerting around the eyes and may make it difficult to open them all the way. This swelling is completely normal and will begin to diminish on the second or third day. Swelling around the eyes may last up to 4-5 days. Any discomfort caused by the swelling can be treated with anti-inflammatory oral medications and cold compresses.

The dots left by the treatment will begin to scab around the third day. Remember, do not ever pick or scratch scabs or peeling skin, as this can lead to infections and scarring. Most scabs will naturally fall off within 6-10 days.

As scabs fall away, the skin underneath may be pink, more sensitive, and slightly textured. Once it is no longer tender, you may use gentle exfoliants to remove the light peeling and roughness that can occur during healing.

As your skin heals, you will notice tighter, firmer, and smoother skin. These benefits will increase as your body continues to produce more collagen and elastin in the area.

Your skin is considered fully healed and ready for another treatment by 12 weeks if desired.
